The First GFLYC Sailing School

WOW! What a blast last weekend was. The youth sailing and and first club event was a hit. We had 9 kids show up and 9 kids became sailors. It was amazing how quickly they picked it up and we were able to give every young sailor time sailing on their own. We’re planning races and adventure games for next month. It’s a blast watching them from the bank over by T-dock at Eden Isle. Come down next month. You’ll enjoy the show. I have attached a link and if you open it, it is a full album of all the pictures from Saturday.

A special thanks to all that helped. Could not happen without club members volunteering their time-

Finally, we have had over 18 new people interact with the club within the last month in some form. Either people wanting to learn to sail, boat owners that want help, or parents that want their children exposed to a great sport and pastime. Let’s welcome them to the club, the lake, and sailing. I know Jenny and I are trying to invite people to crew on our boat as much as possible and would hope that as a club, we continue to promote sailing to everyone interested. See you soon!
